About

Michaela Taylor is a public relations professional currently working as a PR & Media Relations Coordinator at Travel Portland, where she supports media relations initiatives and helps share Portland’s story with national and international audiences. Her work includes coordinating press trips, managing media tracking, supporting newsroom content, and collaborating with journalists and content creators across the tourism and hospitality industry.

Taylor earned her B.A. in Public Relations with a minor in Sports Business from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC). During her time at Oregon, she served as Events Director for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), where she led fundraising and professional development events, managed an events committee, and secured local sponsorships for the chapter. She also contributed to the Oregon Accelerator, working on the public relations and external education team to conduct social media audits and develop NIL-focused content for student-athlete partners.

Prior to joining Travel Portland, Taylor interned with Operation HOPE, where she worked closely with the Deputy Chief of Staff to support the CEO’s American Aspiration Tour. In this role, she assisted with project coordination and helped manage logistics for the national book tour across multiple events.

Before pursuing her career in communications, Taylor served as an Intelligence Analyst in the U.S. Army, where she analyzed intelligence reporting and delivered daily briefings to senior leaders. The experience strengthened her ability to communicate complex information clearly while working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Taylor is passionate about strategic storytelling, media relations, and sports communications, with a particular interest in the intersection of sports, culture, and community. Outside of work, she is an avid sports fan and proud University of Oregon alum — Go Ducks.
